The beauty of this ancient water mill was a valuable source of inspiration.
Our awareness of the historical value of this building guided our choices for it’s entire restructuring. We had to consider the risk of dissolving it’s character in a bubble of modernity.
Therefore we chose oak, once used for the construction of mills, due to its resistance and elasticity. A wood not only durable, but capable of wrapping environments with the warmth of it’s dark shades.
